Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production/Manufacturing Technician with a focus on electro-mechanical assembly for drone production. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical assembly experience with some electrical experience, and will play a crucial role in our production team. Responsibilities Perform complex mechanical assembly tasks independently, utilizing schematics, drawings, and instructions. Assemble and test avionics components such as PCB assemblies, cable harnesses, and integrated modules, applying precision adhesives and bonding techniques. Provide real-time design and assembly feedback to Manufacturing and Quality teams, resolving build issues through proper channels. Follow detailed Manufacturing Process Instructions and adhere to strict safety procedures. Meet aggressive deadlines and flexibly shift priorities across multiple projects. Record and update production data accurately. Essential Skills 2 - 3 years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing assembly in a production environment. Proficiency in mechanical PCBA assembly and the use of hand/power tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, torque drivers, drills, calipers). Ability to read basic SOPs, diagrams, and blueprints. Experience with cable and harness routing. Familiarity with electronic potting processes. Experience with bonding composites such as carbon fiber and epoxies, including mixing, dispensing, and curing. Basic computer skills, including MacOS or Microsoft. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with sheet metal and/or tube assembly fabrication. Forklift or rigging experience for moving objects weighing 400+ lbs. Basic soldering skills. Great problem-solving skills, good judgment, and proactivity. Strong attention to detail. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a South San Francisco facility, working within a four-area warehouse. The areas include the front office, nest (for assembling recovery systems, launch systems, and battery devices), vehicles (for assembling drone bodies and composite wing structures), and logistics. Each team consists of 3 to 4 assemblers plus a team lead. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of South San Francisco, California.
