Export Specialist I

This will be a hybrid position with up to three days of in office work required. It will follow a Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM Eastern Standard Time schedule. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating and managing air freight shipments from origin to destination, which includes quoting, preparing documentation, booking with airlines, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Key responsibilities include managing logistics, liaising with customers, vendors, carriers and partnering agents, as well as troubleshooting any issues that arise. Job Responsibilities: Shipment coordination. Arrange for inland pick-up, booking cargo space with airlines and manage the end-to-end movement of shipments Determines best methods for shipping to ensure customer satisfaction; thereby retaining existing business and attracting new business Provide accurate pricing to customers and partnering agents Traces shipments and routes freight accordingly Documentation and compliance. Prepare and process all necessary export documents, such as bill of lading, AES export clearance filings. Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international regulations, including IATA, TSA and customs laws Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing shipment status updates and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction Communicate professionally with customers, sales executives, carriers, vendors and overseas agents to ensure smooth operations Address and troubleshoot any problems that arise during the shipping process and escalate issues to management when necessary Maintain accurate and clean data in the operations system Ensure all billing requirements are met Cross-trains in additional responsibilities Performs additional duties as assigned by management Required Qualifications: High School diploma/GED 2+ years of recent Air Export experience Competencies: All Deringer employees should be fully committed to the Core Values: Passion, Respect, Integrity, Expertise, Innovative Solutions, Relationships, Support, Determination, Value and a High Level of Accountability In addition, the following competencies are specific to this position: Analytical - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; demonstrates ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
