Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide therapeutic support by conducting counselling services through individual, group, and family sessions based on needs assessments.
  • Support designated classroom students, classroom staff and teachers to implement strategies for student progress with the goal of student progress and improvement.
  • Work closely with district staff to ensure effective case management.
  • Provide social skills instruction through planning and delivering engaging social skills programs.
  • Provide behavioral guidance by sharing expertise on behavior change principles with classroom staff.
  • Assists in the collection of quality indicator data.
  • Provide Crisis Intervention when needed.
  • Help students and their families gain insights to facilitate positive transformations.
  • Offer staff consultation to district staff through regular meetings.
  • Assist in the development of behavior strategies and methodologies to ensure student progress, focusing on data-driven solutions.
Qualifications:
  • A master's degree in social work (MSW) from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Post-graduate MSW supervision experience with completion of 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience.
  • Possess an active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certificate from the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Clinical Exam.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and needs of students and families.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in counseling and education.
Preferred/Nice to have:
  • Previous experience working in a school setting, ideally as an LCSW.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage crises and implement de-escalation techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting students, especially those with special needs.
