KPC Promise Hospital of Salt Lake: The Wound Care Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the Wound Care program as directed by management. Responsibilities include education, data reporting, supervising employees, as well as providing direct and indirect patient care, implementation and evaluation of care in draining wounds, fistulas, pressure sores, skin breakdown and incontinence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing;
- Must hold a current state license (RN) and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the standards of the State Board of Nursing;
- One to two years of wound care supervisory experience preferred
- Three to five years current wound care experience;
- One to three years med/surg nursing experience;
- Certification in wound care and sharp debridement procedures preferred;
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess good verbal and written communications skills;
- Basic computer skills with minimal guidance.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical: Walking - up to 50% Standing - up to 75% Kneeling - up to 15%
Sitting - up to 10% Pushing - up to 10% Bending - up to 25%
Squatting - up to 5% Pulling - up to 5% Reaching - up to 5%
Lifting- up to 50 lbs. Wrist/Finger Movements - up to 90%
Mental: Stress Level: Moderate to high
EXPOSURE RISK: Category I - Jobs in which required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or potential spills or splashes. Use of appropriate measures is required for every healthcare provider in these jobs.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS, MACHINES USED: Camera, wound irrigation, wound vacs, specialty beds and/or mattresses, high/low table, IV pumps, accu-check, computer, copy machine, fax machine, telephone.
CERTIFICATIONS:BLS, ACLS Certification preferred, CWS and/or WOCN preferred
