Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Automation / Electrical Controls Technician to play a critical, hands-on role in maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical power and control systems of our production equipment. This individual will work closely with various teams to support all areas of manufacturing by conducting, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring (including 120/480 volts) to troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Conduct electrical repairs and component replacements on production lines (e.g., motors, drives, pumps, sensors) with attention to quality and precision.
  • Work independently and safely on electrical and controls systems across equipment in assigned departments.
  • Build and modify existing electrical control systems for production equipment.
  • Adhere to safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Arc Flash safety protocols.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on all machinery to ensure efficient operations.
  • Demonstrate expertise in HMI, PLC, VFD, and network interfaces (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, ABB).
  • Understand and troubleshoot networks, including Ethernet, DeviceNet, and/or Profinet.
  • Proficient in Siemens S7 PLC troubleshooting and programming using Simatic Manager or TIA Portal.
  • Skilled in Rockwell PLCs, with ability to troubleshoot and make changes using RSLogix or SoftLogix.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems and implement solutions.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with peers and all levels of management.
  • Demonstrate strong attendance and reliability.
  • Willingness to provide on-call weekend coverage as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant technical field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with CAD systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with plastic extrusion is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Possession of personal tools for the role.

  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow company policies and procedures.
