We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of our organization's network infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our network systems and components. You will also play a key role in troubleshooting network issues, performing upgrades, and ensuring network security.

Network Administrator Responsibilities:

1. Network Infrastructure Management:

  • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network segments.
  • Install and manage network hardware devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks and access points.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability, and implement necessary adjustments and improvements.
  • Conduct regular network capacity planning and ensure scalability to accommodate future growth.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with systems, applications, and services.

2. Network Security:

  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), virtual private networks (VPNs), and access controls.
  • Monitor network traffic for potential security breaches or unauthorized access and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
  • Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and address network vulnerabilities.
  • Stay updated with the latest network security threats and industry best practices, and ensure the implementation of necessary security patches and updates.

3. Network Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, network outages, and performance degradation.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot network-related incidents and provide timely resolution or escalation to higher-level support if required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to resolve complex network problems.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures.

4. Network Administration:

  • Administer and manage network services, such as domain name systems (DNS), dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP), and network time protocol (NTP).
  • Configure and manage network protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Implement network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve network issues.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures for network devices and configurations.
