Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Buyer/Purchasing Manager to oversee the procurement and inventory management for our stores. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of retail purchasing, inventory planning, and the ability to forecast trends within the run specialty industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute purchasing strategies that align with the store’s sales goals and brand identity.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Manage inventory levels to optimize stock turnover while avoiding overstock or shortages.
• Work collaboratively with the sales and marketing teams to identify high-demand products and plan seasonal promotions.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, margin, and inventory turnover.
• Stay current on industry trends and product innovations, particularly in running footwear, apparel, and accessories.
• Oversee order placement, invoicing, and inventory reconciliation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in retail purchasing, inventory management, or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of the running or outdoor retail industry is highly desirable.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in inventory management software and MS Excel.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for running, fitness, or the active lifestyle industry is a plus.
