Compensation:
  • Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 (based on experience)
  • Incentives and Bonuses: Competitive bonus structure based on performance
  • Relocation Assistance: Offered on a case-by-case basis; prefer local candidates

What You’ll Do:
Sourcing and Procurement:
  • Lead the procurement of whole birds and poultry parts directly from packers, brokers, and other reliable poultry processors
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring consistent quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor market dynamics, including price trends and supply chain shifts, to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Develop backup plans and weekly demand forecasts to ensure seamless operations.
  • Manage close relationships, leveraging competitor and vendor collaborations when necessary.
Inventory Management:
  • Oversee inventory levels, ensuring proper rotation and minimizing waste for perishable poultry products.
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure proper specifications for purchased products.
Sales and Market Strategy:
  • Identify and develop sales outlets for surplus or off-market poultry products.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to set competitive pricing and drive revenue growth.
  • Analyze market conditions and provide insights on potential new business opportunities.
Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Serve as the key point of contact for poultry procurement, providing weekly updates and strategies to the team.
  • Be available to address urgent matters, ensuring the smooth operation of poultry sourcing and distribution.

What You’ll Bring:
  • Experience: 4+ years in poultry purchasing, with direct experience working with processors like Tyson, Pilgrims, or Goldenrod.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the poultry market, including shelf life, market trends, and processing operations.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation and communication abilities, with proven success in managing supplier relationships.
  • Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to changes in supply and demand.
  • Education: BS/BA or an equivalent years of experience
