The Environmental Consulting Manager will have a good technical background, experience in client management, a desire to cultivate new business, and a willingness to help develop junior staff.  Candidates should have at least 10+ years of relevant experience in environmental compliance (CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA, and SPCC), a B.S. in a related discipline (Environmental Sciences or Environmental/Civil Engineering), and a solid understanding of environmental regulations.  This role has direct access to senior leadership with excellent professional growth and promotion opportunities. Target base salary ranges from $95,000 to $125,000 and is negotiable, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and possibilities for additional compensation through merit-based spot bonuses, year-end bonuses (depending on annual company performance), and ESOP contributions.

 Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical lead/project manager for environmental projects
  • Lead and oversee various environmental multi-media permitting and permit compliance efforts, including air, stormwater, wastewater, and storage tanks
  • Lead audits of regulatory compliance programs and environmental management systems
  • Data management and analysis for a wide range of projects
  • Develop and support the implementation of various environmental plans (SPCC, FRP, SPR, SWPPP, Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans)
  • Complete environmental regulatory reporting for industrial clients (emission inventory, GHG Reports, waste reporting, Form R, Tier II)
  • Support clients in the development or maintenance of their Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) policies, programs, and procedures
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and cultivate new business by identifying project opportunities, conducting client outreach, and through professional networking
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness
  • Routinely interact with peers, clients, customers, government officials and contractors
  • Serve as mentor to junior staff

 Required Qualifications:

  • 10 to 15+ years of relevant experience in environmental compliance (CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA, and SPCC)
  • B.S. in a related discipline (Environmental Sciences or Environmental/Civil Engineering)
  • Working knowledge of hazardous waste, air quality, stormwater, oil pollution prevention, EPCRA and TRI, NPDES, and wastewater federal/state/local regulations
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a sense of ownership over the delivery of projects
  • Strong attention to detail with solid analytical, judgment, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Candidates should be comfortable using Microsoft Office products (primarily Word, Excel, and Access) at an advanced level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and supervisors, conveying technical information clearly.
  • Understanding the business development cycle explicitly related to the consulting business, including opportunity identification, proposal writing and development, and presentation.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships for projects under management, routine project management functions such as project scoping and budgeting, budget tracking, project supervision, technical oversight, and delivery of the finished product.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience working at a consulting firm with the ability to manage and grow clients.

·         Active participant in relevant environmental organizations (AWMA, WVMA, and PIOGA).

·         Hold or are working towards relevant professional licenses (PE, EIT, PG) or certifications (QEP, CHMM, EPI)
