Job DescriptionJob Description

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the daily operations of all CTC River Vessels by coordinating and communicating with various departments including Logistics, Compliance, Purchasing, Shoreside Management and the Vessels.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained and supported.
  • Coordinate and communicate activities between Vessel Operations, Canonsburg Logistics, Compliance, Maintenance and Harbor Logistics.
  • Track and document the closure of corrective and preventative action, working closely with department heads to ensure timely completion.
  • Communicate all corrective and preventative actions and closures from audits, inspections, and surveys to the appropriate departments, including the vessels.
  • Monitor the efficiency and productivity of line-haul vessels, harbor vessels, and fleeting utilization through the creation and monitoring of performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with the Analysts (FP&A) to develop and refine reports to track the key performance indicators (KPI’s) used to monitor the efficiency of the fleet.
  • Assist the Vessel Operations team with crewing metrics and reports for the river vessel fleet.
  • Monitor data input from vessels and generate reports to provide relevant information for management.
  • Manage special Projects and track their progress throughout the timeline.
  • Assist the Vessel Operations department with managing any day-to-day needs.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED certificate, or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in business management or related field.
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in operations management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Physical Capabilities:

  • Ability to carry, push, pull or move 10 pounds regularly, or up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day.
