The Longue Vue Club, a premier private country club in Pittsburgh, is searching for a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. As a senior manager at the club, the Purchasing Manager will play a critical role in maintaining our reputation for world-class service and member satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all purchasing, receiving, and inventory control operations, ensuring goods and services are received per specification.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and department heads to procure items of the highest quality at the lowest cost.
- Manage and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that service and financial targets are consistently met.
- Develop and implement inventory control systems, and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy.
- Lead the competitive bidding process, including sending RFPs, obtaining bids, and awarding contracts.
- Perform month-end inventory counts and manage all related administrative duties, including invoice processing and record-keeping.
- Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and orderly condition of all storage facilities.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and club departments, fostering strong vendor relationships.
What We Seek:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in food purchasing or food sales within a private club, hotel, resort, or restaurant setting.
- Skills: Strong organizational, negotiation, and time management skills, with a proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Knowledge: Extensive food product knowledge and inventory management skills.
- Character: High ethical standards, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
