Reporting to: Sous Chef
Purpose of the position
Team members will be responsible for the daily operation of Nutrition Solutions pertaining to the preparation, cooking, plating and storage of product. Team members are responsible to accurately and efficiently cook/prepare meats, vegetables and other hot/cold food products in addition to the daily upkeep of their work area and contributing to the organization and cleanliness of the facility.
Key responsibilities & duties
Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, skillets etc.
Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
Knows and complies consistently with our cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, ovens, flat tops and refrigeration equipment.
Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.
Assists in all food prep assignments as needed.
Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes.
Open/Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for all kitchen stations. Assists others in opening/closing the kitchen.
Team members are to adhere to Nutrition Solutions employee guidelines which are outlined below.
Adhere to Nutrition Solutions kitchen dress code. Uniforms are provided.
Non-Slip Shoes are mandatory (employee provided)
Cell phones are to be used on breaks only
Punch out for lunch and or breaks
Uses time efficiently and completes work in a timely manner.
Demonstrates attention to detail.
Maintain attendance in accordance with weekly posted schedule unless confirmed with supervisor
Contribute to a healthy and happy workplace through communication, optimism, and respecting every other member of the team

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as cook
- Servsafe Certified (non-negotiable)
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
- High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
