Reports To: Chief Advancement Officer
Timely, accurate and clean data management is essential to the success of the fundraising efforts of Saint Thomas Church and Choir School. The Development Associate ensures the excellence of our data systems on a daily basis.
Position Summary:
-Enters all gifts, annual pledges, Friends of Music, Choir School donations and other transactions received from finance into Touch Point
-Able to maintain strict confidentiality with regard to donor and financial records.
-Generate accurate acknowledgement letters for pledges, gifts, and other transactions within 72 hours of receipt.
-Updates and maintains donor, alumni, and constituent records
-Confirm and report credit card transactions to finance office.-Work closely and submit transaction bundle reports to Finance Department.
-Answer calls from donors and resolve questions.
-Update constituent records as new information is received concerning marriages, deaths, new addresses, children, baptisms, and other as needed.
-Clean mailing lists and correct information in Touch Point as needed.
-Conduct research on past, present and prospective constituents to confirm and update information in Touch Point.
-Assist with research of prospective individual and institutional funders.
-Assist the Database Manager and Chief Advancement Officer with other duties as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree plus equivalent progressively responsible work experience is required..
Knowledge of Touch Point or similar database preferred, but not required.
Proficiency with MS Excel and Word required, including merge functions for efficient production of acknowledgement letters
Experience in the field of advancement/development
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to details
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Ability to collaborate with finance department
Pro-active problem-solving ability, while demonstrating patience, diplomacy, and discretion in working with our constituencies
Background check screening required.
