1st Choice, LLC is on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager to lead our financial operations and drive organizational growth. This hybrid role offers the perfect balance of flexibility and collaboration, with occasional visits to our Silver Spring office and remote work options. 

Job Summary:

The Finance Manager oversees 1st Choice, LLC's daily finance activities, focusing on optimizing financial processes and enhancing efficiency. This role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills and a proven track record of financial excellence.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee finance department for enhanced productivity.
  • Supervise the Accounting Specialist.
  • Manage financial health to promote success and growth while maintaining legal financial practices.
  • Researching, financial reporting and writing policies and procedures.
  • Financial planning and budgeting for the growth of the business.
  • Analyze, Reconcile and Close the books of organization monthly and annually.
  • Coordination of the consolidated financial statement audit and other audits, as necessary.
  • Oversee the operations and development of the finance department including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training, and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
  • Work with management across multiple departments of the company including HR and Business Development to ensure requests are being responded to timely and accurately.
  • Prepare and submit payroll for both corporate employees and associates.
  • Ensure payroll related tax compliance and registration.
  • Responsible for New and Renewal certifications.
  • Manage and Coordinate funding as needed.
  • Manage the Cash Flow of the company.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reporting including the GSA sales quarterly reporting and Profitability reports.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, financial packages, and other informational reports/analysis.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute annual financial audit prior to tax filings.
  • Compilation of information for the Company's annual tax returns.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls.
  • Prepare and present weekly financial health and goal-oriented reports to staff and management.
  • Ensure underlying accounting records are accurate, complete and in accordance with GAAP.
  • Review monthly operating reports for accuracy, completeness, and major variances between actual and budget results.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Liaison to Insurance and Worker’s Comp providers for updates, monthly reporting, and annual reviews/renewals.
  • All other duties as assigned


Work Environment:

  • This is a full-time hybrid position.  There will be occasional trips to the office in Silver Spring to collect checks for deposit.  All other work will be performed remotely.
  • Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm EST.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field is required.
  • Relevant work experience in Finance or Accounting is essential.  This includes several years of experience in roles such as Financial Analyst, Controller, or similar positions.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills for collaborating with different departments.
  • Superior knowledge of industry regulations, operational guidelines, and financial regulations and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of data analysis software packages.
  • Proven knowledge of performance evaluation metrics in a business setting.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills are crucial.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and financial software.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to provide financial insights for decision-making.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
