Independent Kids is a privately owned facility that provides speech and occupational therapy. We are client centered, collaborative, creative and our goal is to “Working Together to Reach Your Child’s Functional Independence”.

We are looking for a SLP motivated and ready to work, we offer speech services in private clinic, daycares, school-based or telehealth depending on the case. Therapist must be able to work independently, and make appropriate decisions based on each patients functional needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with pediatric clients on a one-on-one basis to help them become as functionally independent. We're looking for someone who is passionate about caring for others, taking pride in the work they do. An independent therapist that will work with children from ages of 18 months to 18 yrs of age with a variety of diagnoses, to help them become functionally independent.

  • Degree in Speech Language Pathologist from an accredited college or university
  • Active Speech Language Pathologist License from the State of Florida
  • Background Check

  • Knowledgeable in electronic soap notes
  • Flexible hours
  • Experience working with children with various age groups
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
  • Level II finger printing background
  • Adapts in a positive and productive manner to changes
  • Handles unexpected situations and changes in direction calmly and with confidence.

  • Incorporates sensory integrated, creative and fun therapy sessions.
  • Able to work in various settings independent clinic, client home, daycare and public/private schools.
  • Independent Contractor ID (purpose for visiting public schools if not obtained we can assist in getting you one)
  • Caseloads include children with a literacy focus, language delay, articulation and phonology focus, developmental delay, and other speech and language issues.
  • PART TIME/FULL TIME Schedule (days vary/flexible)

Responsibilities:

  • Identify children's speech language difficulties/disorders
  • Perform evaluations and create Plans of Care for speech therapy needs
  • Implement developmentally appropriate goals for speech disorder
  • Work with clients on a one-to-one basis to deliver therapy
  • Maintain electronic treatment records and progress reports using web-based therapy software (Clinic Source)
  • Adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Provide quality, personalized, and evidence-based care and proven interventions
  • Provide parent/caregiver training and support
  • Participate within an interdisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for pediatric clients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication deficits.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, audiologists) to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, including SOAP notes and progress reports.
  • Provide parent education and training to support speech and language development at home.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and current research to guide treatment.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of therapy interventions and adjust as necessary.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an SLP in the state of Florida.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations, particularly children with autism and developmental delays.
  • Strong understanding of early intervention practices, phonology, and speech perception.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for working with children and their families.

Other Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state license or certification in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience working with individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders
