Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for CNC Set-up with the flexibility to come in for training on 1st shift for a month.

Pay range is $22– $25/hr. 2nd shift.

Summary: Program, set up and operate various CNC (computer numerical control) lathe machines in order to fabricate products according to the customers’ specifications.

Responsibilities:

· Read and interpret blueprints and BOM to determine complex setup procedures, tooling, settings and sequences.

· Choose, align, and mount fixtures, tools, attachments, accessories or other materials to the machine.

· Program and edit multiple CNC lathe machines by entering commands so the machines perform the correct functions.

· Prepare and load materials onto the machine.

· Operate and monitor machine, check coolant and oil levels, fill as needed.

· Work closely with the Quality Control Department to conduct inspections during the production process and verify products meets specifications.

· Maintain productivity at levels that match or exceed production standards.

· Communicate with Production Cell Supervisor on all issues related to discrepancies on drawing or BOM.

· Work with Maintenance department on performing or scheduling routine maintenance.

· Follow safety rules and use safe procedures.

· Keep all tools and supplies put away in the appropriate location on a daily basis and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· High School diploma or GED.

· Certification or additional CNC training is required.

· 5 years of hands-on experience operating and setting up CNC lathe machines

· Ability to read, understand and interpret complex blueprints, mechanical drawings and other written material.

· Knowledge of Fanuc controls are preferred.

· Full understanding of machining tools, drills, tap, bores, etc.

· Mechanical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Mathematically literate.

· Effectively communicate.

· Knowledge of various types of equipment and processes such as:

o Air and power tools

o Micrometers, calipers, rulers, tape measures and gages

· Ability to work independently and multi-task.

Physical Requirements:

· Continuous standing, moving and reaching with arms and hand.

· Frequently walks, bends, lifts and carries items.

· Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

· Work performed in a shop environment.

Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, and odors
