Job DescriptionJob Description

The qualified individual will be responsible for all aspects of shipping and receiving of goods, inventory control, purchasing and supply chain procedures.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support all daily logistics requirements, liaising as necessary with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Generate and provide bills of lading [RL1] for domestic customer freight orders, commercial invoice, certificates of origins, customs declarations etc., for international shipments.
  • Be the point of contact for internal customers as it relates to purchase order shipping status, shipping coordination and carrier issues.
  • Receive, inspect, count, and stock incoming shipments quickly and accurately.
  • Performing daily safety checks on forklift.
  • Process purchase requisitions from multiple company departments.
  • Execute inventory cycle counts.
  • High volume data entry, including creating, entering, and receiving purchase orders in EPO system with high accuracy.
  • Review orders prior to order placement, ensuring any issues are either corrected or communicated to the responsible party for correction.
  • Organize and file purchase orders and other records as necessary.
  • Interface with team members in multiple departments (i.e., shipping, accounting, manufacturing) to ensure document and information flow follows established processes and procedures.
  • Quickly and accurately pick and pull inventory items for all departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include

  • Associates Degree or working equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of order entry work experience with a purchasing and ordering system.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work quickly with minimum error.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good at multi-tasking and working with interruption.
  • Able to interface with multiple departments, individuals, personalities, and suppliers.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to focus on the assigned tasks and duties.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).

Working Conditions

The staff member will be working in a warehouse setting with various degrees of temperature. They may stand for prolonged periods and will utilize a forklift as needed. Motion and sensory requirements – reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity.

Physical requirements

  • The staff member must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.

  •  [RL1]Lading is the proper term.  A bill of lading is a document issued by a carrier to acknowledge receipt of cargo for shipment.
