Summary:

The Product Manager takes ownership of orchestrating the transformation of emerging technologies into commercial products in EpiCypher’s portfolio of innovative technologies and assay services. This position requires effective communication, organization, and technical skills to prioritize and manage product launch efforts that maximize customer satisfaction and drive company growth.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal stakeholders to define and execute product roadmaps.
  • Work with R&D, Production, Lab Operations, Services, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, and Order Fulfillment to define technology development milestones and go-to-market plans to ensure seamless product and service launches.
  • Define minimum viable products (MVP), pricing, customer profiles, messaging, recommended applications, lot release strategy, and quality control metrics.
  • Educate commercial teams about new technologies and target markets and generate resources for sales, marketing, and business development activities.
  • Establish and track metrics to inform product success.
  • Manage the post-launch product life cycle by overseeing needed technical and content updates, identifying emerging applications, monitoring and improving profit margins, and tracking product performance over time.
  • Develop core product documentation that outlines technological capabilities, requirements, and protocols.
  • Identify and assess external suppliers of product materials and assist in negotiating supply agreements.
  • Conduct market research to track industry trends and maintain an up-to-date understanding of competitors.
  • Coordinate with Marketing team to conduct Voice of Customer Surveys and Customer Discovery interviews to gather insights on customer needs and product performance.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development team to design and conduct experiments that improve product robustness and meet market needs.
  • Attend and present at relevant conferences to engage with scientists and industry professionals, understand customer needs, expand B2B relationships, and identify potential areas of product growth.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all product related activities to ensure consistency and quality.

Credentials and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field strongly preferred, with consideration for candidates with a Master’s degree and at least two years of related experience.
  • Experience in chromatin research and/or NGS technologies is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a product management or related role in the biotechnology or life sciences industry.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Strong project management abilities, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex scientific concepts clearly.
  • Strong scientific writing and editing skills with attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to read and understand scientific content for diverse audiences is required.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to coordinate efforts across functional teams.
  • Familiarity with epigenomic mapping technologies (e.g., CUT&RUN/Tag, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq or related assays) is required.

While performing the duties of the Product Manager position, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods as well as move about inside their office. The employee must be able to operate a computer and necessary office equipment.
