THE ROLEAs a Senior Product Manager at MindsDB, you will:
  • Lead the development and execution of product strategies for major products or markets, in this case our roadmap for Data and how we surface the most useful knowledge across any and all data.
  • Define and prioritize features to drive business growth and market opportunity
  • Drive end-to-end product development lifecycle across engineering, design, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct user research to understand customer needs and translate insights into actionable product requirements.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and competitor landscape to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of product strategies for Data sources and integrations.
  • Define and prioritize features to drive business growth and market opportunity.
  • Drive end-to-end product development lifecycle across engineering, design, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct user research to understand customer needs and translate insights into actionable product requirements.

This role is looking for a candidate currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.

What you'll be working on:
  • Data of all kinds and ensuring we make it easy to connect, process, and surface knowledge through Minds, our turnkey solution for private AI across Enterprise data

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONSYou will have:
  • Expertise in Data Integration and Processing:
    • Deep understanding of data source integration (e.g., APIs, ETL pipelines, or direct database connections) and experience with structured and unstructured data.
    • Familiarity with enterprise-grade data platforms and knowledge of distributed data systems (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Apache Kafka).
  • AI and ML Background:
    • Experience working with AI/ML-driven products or platforms, particularly those leveraging generative AI, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), or similar technologies.
    • Ability to translate AI capabilities into clear, actionable business use cases for enterprise customers.
  • Enterprise Product Experience:
    • Proven track record of building and launching enterprise-scale solutions with a focus on scalability, security, and compliance (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR).
    • Understanding of the challenges associated with enterprise adoption of new technologies, such as data privacy concerns and stakeholder alignment.
  • Technical Acumen:
    • Hands-on familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), query languages (e.g., SQL), and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
    • Ability to partner effectively with engineering teams, acting as a bridge between technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strategic Vision:
    • Experience developing a product roadmap that aligns with company vision and customer needs, focusing on strategic differentiation in a competitive market.
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration:
    • Exceptional ability to articulate product vision and present complex technical concepts in a simple, compelling manner.
    • Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, sales, and marketing.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset:
    • Ability to work closely with customers, conduct deep user research, and translate insights into actionable product requirements.
    • Demonstrated focus on solving real-world customer challenges with measurable outcomes.
  • Leadership and Decision-Making:
    • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from executive leadership to engineering teams.
    • Comfort making data-driven decisions in a fast-paced, startup environment.
Nice to have:
  • Experience with Open-Source Communities:
    • Familiarity with open-source development models and engagement with developer communities.
    • Experience building and scaling open-source products or contributions to open-source projects.
  • Understanding of Generative AI and Private AI Trends:
    • Awareness of market trends in enterprise AI adoption, particularly around secure AI, knowledge management, and data democratization.
  • Startup Experience:
    • Demonstrated success in fast-growing startups, especially those with a focus on AI, data platforms, or SaaS products.
  • Domain Knowledge in Target Industries:
    • Understanding of industries such as finance, healthcare, retail, and technology, and their specific data and AI challenges.
  • Experience with Enterprise Databases or Data platforms and technologies
  • Demonstrable success building products from 0 to 1.
  • Ability to manage complex projects to timelines and resource budgets.
