Location: East Elmhurst, NY 11370

Salary & Benefits: Minimum: $80,000 per year

Maximum: $100,000 per year

plus included commission structure based on growth over sales target.

Position also will include: Gas, tools and cell phone reimbursement. It will also include Company’s vehicle.

Hours: Flexible hours from 7:00am to 4:30pm

 

We are looking for a talented and experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with all sales team members to achieve the company's goals for sales, profits, and customer satisfaction. Outside Sales Representatives are evaluated on their success in meeting profit targets, customer satisfaction metrics, expanding market presence, and acquiring new customers. This role is crucial for daily operations and contributes significantly to the company’s long-term growth and profitability. The Outside Sales Representative plays a key role in executing the company's revenue and profit strategies, working closely with other employees and departments to align efforts toward these objectives. Your impact on customer service, responsiveness to client needs, timely deliveries, and enhancing gross margins will also shape customers' perception of BQPS as a high-quality, reliable partner. Duties and responsibilities:

  • Time and Sales Management: Use the sales reporting and planning tools to effectively manage your time and sales efforts.

  • Customer Interface: Act as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams, representing Ideal Supply Company as a dependable and innovative supplier of high-quality products and services.

  • Sales Generation: Achieve the company’s gross margin objectives by identifying and converting leads, referrals, and opportunities for upselling to existing customers.

  • Workflow Coordination: Ensure that lead times are sufficient and that communications are clear to facilitate proper planning throughout the sales and distribution process.

  • Expectation Management: Communicate customer expectations clearly to the sales and distribution team, providing detailed delivery specifications and order requirements for order entry and pricing accuracy.

  • Prospecting: Identify and target potential customers through research and networking efforts.

  • Client Relationships: Develop and nurture strong relationships with existing clients to foster repeat business.

  • Sales Presentations: Conduct in-person sales presentations and product demonstrations for potential clients.

  • Tailored Proposals: Prepare and present compelling sales proposals and quotes tailored to the specific needs of clients.

  • Documentation and Communication: Provide all necessary documentation, cost estimates, pricing quotes, and other communications to ensure successful performance and timely delivery of the company’s products and services.

  • Travel Planning: Collaborate with the Outside Sales Manager to establish an effective travel plan and visitation schedule for maintaining relationships with existing accounts.

  • New Business Development: Identify prospective customers through networking and referrals, scheduling joint visits with the Outside Sales Manager when appropriate to convert these relationships into business opportunities.

  • Sales Performance: Maintain and enhance sales volume with existing and new customers, focusing on metrics such as gross margin, on-time delivery, service quality, and customer satisfaction.

  • Order Status Communication: Keep customers informed about their order statuses, proactively addressing potential delays.

  • Product Presentations: Establish and maintain high-quality communication with customers regarding new products, ensuring excellent service and responsiveness to inquiries.

  • Reporting: Communicate operating issues, goals, and results to the Outside Sales Manager effectively.

 

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.

  • Proven experience in outside sales or a similar role, ideally in the plumbing supply industry.

  • Strong understanding of the company’s products and services, as well as industry trends.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with customers and present proposals.

  • Strong negotiation skills to close sales and build lasting relationships with clients.

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to visit clients.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate challenges and provide solutions.

  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams and departments to enhance customer satisfaction and achieve sales goals.

  • In the existing book of business in the plumbing supply industry.

 

The performance of the Outside Sales Representative will be assessed according to the following criteria:

 

  • Sales and Gross Margin Goals: Success in meeting budgeted sales targets and gross margin objectives.

  • Product Penetration: Improvement in the penetration of all products and product lines for assigned customers and leads, while maintaining targeted gross margins.

  • Customer Base Expansion: Growth of the customer base by acquiring new accounts through prospecting and referrals.

  • Business Development: Ability to secure new business, as well as generate add-on and referral sales from existing customers.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Effective management of customer interactions and activities using the Salesforce sales management tool.

  • Order Processing Efficiency: Accuracy and promptness in handling customer purchase orders and specification details.

  • Customer Satisfaction: Attaining a high level of satisfaction among customers.
