Summary

Remote position, with 30% travel.

As the Director, Applied Data Products & AI, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s data & AI product offerings and strategy. You will be responsible for building scalable and integrated data offerings that support customers' needs. This position will focus on overseeing the development of innovative products and services as it’s relate to data and AI. You will also lead market intelligence efforts, analyzing trends, competitors, and customer needs to ensure that the AI strategy aligns with industry demands and future growth.

In addition to driving strategy, you will play a crucial role in the deployment of the data products, collaborating with the commercial organization to promote data and AI-based products. This involves working closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, clinical network and operations, to define go-to-market strategies, optimize product positioning, and ensure the seamless execution of strategic initiatives. As a key leader, you will work with stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment between data management goals and broader organizational strategies, contributing to the overall success of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

Data Product Strategy and Vision:

  • Develop and articulate a clear vision and strategy for the product platform, inclusive of the use of internal and external data as well as novel technologies such as AI, in line with BioIVT overall goals to drive growth.
  • Identify market opportunities and trends and adapt product strategy to meet evolving healthcare and technology landscapes.

Operational Oversight:

  • Design, implement and monitor processes to enhance data availability and delivery to customers.
  • Establish required infrastructure internally and in collaboration with external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Expand partnerships to enhance data offerings and AI development.
  • Oversee product budget, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and report on product performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Product Management and Development:

  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept to launch, including ideation, market research, design, development, and deployment.
  • Ensure products meet high standards of quality, usability, and performance.
  • Work closely with operations, commercial, IT and regulatory to deliver innovative and impactful products.

Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive market and competitive analysis to inform product decisions.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes, technological advancements, and industry trends.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, customer support, and senior management, to align on product goals and strategies.
  • Engage with customers, partners, and industry experts to gather insights and feedback, ensuring product-market fit.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Master’s degree in computational science, bioinformatics or equivalent scientific education, with 5+ years of experience in data products in healthcare or biotech.
  • Experience in healthcare, clinical trials, medical devices, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience managing complex projects in a high-tech environment. Clinical trials management experience preferred
  • An understanding of various types of healthcare real world data and how to generate insights, analytics and evidence from raw data including but not limited to bioinformatics/genomics databases, biological datasets, biotech or Pharma R&D
  • Knowledge in commercializing real-world data and using it for product and AI model development
  • Knowledge of government structure, regulatory requirements and ethical regulations pertaining to human tissue in countries located in North, Central and South America, Europe, or Asia
  • Familiarity with scientific terminology
  • Proven track record of negotiating contracts
  • Experience managing project budgets and tracking expenditures
  • Strong relationship-building and managing experience (customer service or sales)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions of key stakeholders
