About the Role

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality data solutions to support clinical excellence? We are seeking a skilled Medical Trauma Data Specialist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your expertise in trauma registry data management and analysis to drive patient care improvement.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for abstracting trauma registry data from various sources, including electronic medical records, computer systems, and EMS run sheets. You will also be required to enter patient data into trauma registries according to established protocols and upload data to national databases.

You will work closely with our Trauma Program Manager and Medical Director to ensure accurate and timely data entry, and provide regular data analysis and statistics to inform clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Abstract trauma registry data from primary and secondary sources
  • Enter patient data into trauma registries according to established protocols
  • Upload data to national databases
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Provide regular data reports to Trauma Program Manager and Medical Director
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong background in trauma registry data management and analysis
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of trauma scoring and calculations, including ISS, PS, RTS, PTS, GCS, and TRISS
