Creations in Cuisine Catering is a full-service catering company, and we are preparing for the start of another exciting event season We have serviced Phoenix, the surrounding area and Northern Arizona for over 28 years. Responsibilities

Our Catering Event Chefs act as our company ambassadors and spokesperson on each event whether casual or elegant. You are responsible for ensuring the event is executed flawlessly from start to finish and your responsibilities would include but are not limited to the following.

·         You will be responsible to assist in event BEO production for all events in the commissary as business levels dictate.

  • On event days you will stage food for travel to the event.
  • On site you will execute the finale preparation of all food items for small, medium, or large events meeting our standards and presentation quality as specified by the executive Chef.
  • Once on site you will be responsible for the set up and break down of a temporary field kitchen, as well as finale preparation, heating and presentation of both hot and cold food items in various catering scenarios such as plated dinners, buffets, action stations and tray passed hors d’oeuvres.

·         You will be required to set up an organized field kitchen to efficiently execute any style of catered event.

·         You will manage the breakdown of the field kitchen with the proper handling of all leftover food. Repack kitchen and food service equipment in a manner to avoid breakage and prepare it to travel back to our commissary. 

  • You must always provide unsurpassed customer service in any situation. This must be part of your daily performance standards.
  • Ability to work alone or with culinary management team and or manage on site culinary team from 1-25
  • Must be able to work well with FOH staff and event service Captains and Sales team.
  • You will be required to create visually appealing platters, trays, and plated meals of various cuisines as well as tray passed hors d’oeuvres and action stations.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance, a pleasant and professional attitude with guests and other staff members.
  • Always arrive to work with a clean, pressed uniform with well-kept hair/facial hair.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to allow you to execute a flawless catered event properly and efficiently. Must be able to lift and carry various weights and equipment and assist in unloading and loading the trucks with kitchen equipment.
  • Be prepared to except direction to perform all supportive functions as determined by the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Service Captain and CICC management.

Qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications

·         2+ years of service experience in offsite Catering or banquet service in a Hotel, Resort or other food service establishments

·         1+ years of management and leadership experience

·         Always maintain a Professional manner and appearance

·         Physically able to lift 40+ lbs.

·         Always display and provide unsurpassed customer service skills

·         Ability to multitask with effective communication and organization skills

·         Ability to work well on your own and or manage a crew of 1-25

·         Ability to work well and in a professional manner under pressure in all types of circumstances while understanding and enforcing CICC culinary standards with zero disruption to the flow of the event

·         Anticipate guests needs with the ability to fulfill all requests

·         Discuss, review and communicate any last-minute changes and manage the execution of those changes with the culinary team.

·         Must have reliable transportation

·         Provide a clean Department of Motor Vehicles driving record

·         Must be knowledgeable in all the fundamentals of cooking, to include sauces, stocks, all cooking technics and procedures as well as proper cooking and holding temperatures.

·         Exceptional cleanliness and sanitation practices.

·         Know-how of the operation and cleanliness of all kitchen equipment to include stoves, grills, ovens, fryers, warming boxes or other.

·         Knowledge and willingness to comply with all Health Department standards.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively: Speaks and listens and engages in a clear, thorough, and timely manner.
  • Maintains a positive attitude in any situation
  • Flexibility with daily tasks – We are a high-volume custom catering company. Our menus change frequently, and we need someone who is adaptable and quick to learn.

Work location and Schedule:

Creations in Cuisine Catering’s corporate office and commissary is in the north valley at 1825 W Crest Lane Phoenix Arizona 85027. It is at this location where our weekly meetings take place, and all events originate. You would be required to meet at this location at your scheduled time to assist in food production inspect event equipment, oversee the packing of menu items, packing of truck, gathering of any additional items related to the event. Depending on the level of service we are providing, there may be occasions where you will be required to meet on site. Event locations may take place valley wide, in southern or northern Arizona in event venues, private homes and businesses.

·         Shifts are scheduled at least 2 weeks prior or up to 1 month prior depending on booking dates

·         Event Chef shifts average 5-8 hours. Creations in Cuisine Catering guarantees a 4-hour minimum shift unless staff member requests an early departure.

·         Once the schedule is posted and a shift is excepted you are expected to fulfill that commitment. Although there are times where this may not be possible, excessive call offs or shift rescheduling is not acceptable. 

·         Work or manage events that occur in the early mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends

·         Some holidays, dictated by business levels

·         Willing to travel throughout the valley, southern and northern Arizona

·         Must be dependable with minimal shift refusals, tardiness and work absence

Compensation and Benefits:

Creations in Cuisine Catering offers a competitive and generous compensation package with an understanding that all staff members deserve the need to maintain the perfect work-life balance.

·         Event Chef’s will be compensated the Hourly rate of $18.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience with added gratuity

·         Gratuity is guaranteed @ $10.00 per hour for all events except occasional contracted festivals, charities or marketing events.

·         Paid travel time for events that are greater than 1 hour travel time from our commissary location.

·         Matching 401k participation

·         Shared expense insurance coverage

·         Sick pay

·         Holiday pay when scheduled to work on a holiday

·         Earned vacation pay

·         Companywide staff appreciation holiday and end of season party

·         Christmas Bonus

·         Daily in commissary staff meals

·         Event Shift meals when possible (not guaranteed)
