Fire Safety Alarms, established in 1979, is a leader in the New York fire alarm industry. Providing fire alarm installation and service to NYC high-rise commercial buildings has been the lifeblood of our business throughout the years. As a result of a steadily expanding marketplace, FSA currently has job openings for fire alarm installers/technicians. This is an excellent opportunity for a technology-oriented individual with a desire to apply their electrical skills to addressable type fire alarm systems in NYC high-rise commercial buildings. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fire Alarm System Installation/Maintenance/Servicing
  • Low Voltage Wiring
  • EMT/Rigid Pipe-work
  • Basic Power Tool Operation
  • Electrical Troubleshooting

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or Greater Required
  • Basic Fire Alarm/Electrical Knowledge
  • Working Knowledge of NFPA-72
  • NICET Certification (Level - II) is a Plus
  • NYC Certificate of Fitness S-98 (Fire Alarm System Inspection, Test and Service Technician) Also a Plus
  • Candidate Must be a Self-Starter with a Good Work Ethic
  • Candidate Must Have a Valid Driver's License
  • Candidate Must be Fluent in English
  • Candidate Must be willing and able to report to various job sites in New York City while also report to our office in Jersey City, NJ on occasion.

The company was originally located in Manhattan when the scope of work was confined to fire protection consulting services with high-rise commercial buildings. We specialized in obtaining waiver/modifications of Local Law 5/73, preparing timetables of compliance, and conducting assessments of high rise properties.

In 1981, FSA moved to Jersey City and expanded operations to include fire protection engineering, fire alarm design, inspection and fire alarm installation pursuant to the High Rise Fire Safety Law known as Local Law 5/73.

FSA is licensed by the State of New York for Security and Fire Alarm Systems, License No.12000028978, and the State of New Jersey, License # 34FA00134400.
