As a Paralegal, you will primarily assist a growing team of eight (8) in-house attorneys, two (2) existing paralegals, and a risk management analyst, by performing the below stated duties:


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing general assistance in real estate transactions.
  • Proofreading legal documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Performing legal due diligence.
  • Preparing documents relating to a variety of real estate matters based on consultation with, and review by, in-house attorneys, including contracts, leases, security instruments, escrow/closing instructions, and closing documents.
  • Analyzing and summarizing documents and legal authorities for review by in-house real estate attorneys.
  • Working closely with in-house attorneys in connection with general corporate and other matters and supporting a broad range of corporate transactions and projects.
  • Reviewing surveys, title commitments and exception documents.
  • Multi-tasking and prioritizing work assignments to consistently provide high-quality work product within stated deadlines.
  • General administrative functions.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office products
  • Strong computer capabilities
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret statutes, contracts and other legal documents
  • General working knowledge of office equipment
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Strong team-player; able to work with diverse groups of people
  • Commitment to company values and customer service
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively with coworkers, senior management, and outside legal counsel

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and at minimum 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience and understanding of real estate law desirable
  • Prior litigation experience desirable
