Join usThe RoleWe are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Data Architect to lead our data strategy and architecture efforts. As the Chief Data Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping the direction of our data systems, ensuring they align with business goals, and driving innovation through data-driven insights. You will collaborate with various teams to design, implement, and maintain robust data architectures that support our growing needs.Key Responsibilities:         •       Data Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization’s business objectives, ensuring scalability and adaptability.        •       Architecture Design: Design and oversee the implementation of data architectures, including data models, data integration frameworks, and data governance policies.        •       Technology Leadership: Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, recommending and implementing modern data solutions that enhance efficiency and data quality.        •       Collaboration: Work closely with IT, data science, analytics, and business teams to understand their data needs and provide architectural solutions that support their objectives.        •       Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.        •       Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize data systems for performance, reliability, and scalability, addressing any issues that arise.        •       Mentorship: Mentor and guide data architects, engineers, and other relevant team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.        •       Project Management: Lead and manage data architecture projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.Candidate Qualifications:         •       Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.        •       Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, data management, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.        •       Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of data modeling, database design, data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases).        •       Tools and Technologies: Proficiency with data architecture tools and platforms (e.g., ERwin, Informatica, Talend, Kafka, Spark) and familiarity with cloud data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).        •       Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.        •       Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset, capable of translating business needs into effective data solutions.       •       Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CDMP) are a plus.Leadership Competencies: Thinks Strategically – Sets direction aligned to the company’s strategy, applying external and global perspective to meet local and global needs.Motivates People – Gains people commitment to achieve business objectives through clear communication of the company’s vision and flexing leadership styles to inspire high performance. Grows Talent – Inclusively and pro-actively develops talent, empowers individuals and manages diverse teams to drive engagement and performance.Models our Values – Creates a culture that promotes the company’s values and standards through role modeling, accountability and ownership of decisions.Focuses on Customers – Promotes customer centricity and ensures focus on creating differentiating customer experiences to achieve competitive advantage.Drives Results – Sets aggressive goals and is accountable for continuously driving improved performance, leading change and ensuring high standards.About MetLife: MetLife, through its subsidiaries and affiliates, is one of the world’s leading financial services companies, providing insurance, annuities, employee benefits and asset management to help its individual and institutional customers navigate their changing world.
