Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our team at Bayer U.S. LLC. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for translating business and IT strategy into technology solutions. Your expertise in designing IT architecture and artifacts will be crucial in developing, evaluating, and updating our IT architecture strategy and landscape roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to business prioritization, planning, and optimization initiatives
- Guide the evaluation and selection of strategic technology
- Forecast outcomes of technology decisions
- Lead continuous improvement of IT architecture
- Collaborate with cross-functional U.S. and global stakeholders
Requirements
- Master's in I.T., C.S., Data Science, Business Analytics, or closely-related field
- 8 years of experience assessing IT target architectures, component technologies, and service-oriented architectures in an enterprise environment
- Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting IT architecture and networking and security solutions
- Working with SQL and RDBMS databases and system design
- Designing and developing data warehouses
- Gathering business requirements
- Using architecture models and frameworks to support business and technology design decisions
- Evaluating risks and opportunities of new and emerging technologies
- Presenting recommendations for company use based on data and metrics
- Developing proof of concepts for new technologies
- Implementing automated operational control checks on data quality
- Developing and implementing logical and physical data models
- Using Agile and Lean methodologies and enterprise architecture frameworks for solution design
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to test new processes and/or methods
- Creating and maintaining design and code documentation using GitHub, Haystack, and/or a related data repository
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's in said fields and 10 years of progressive post experience
Work Environment
This is a remote-friendly position, permitting up to 3 days of telecommuting per week from a location within reasonable commuting distance of Whippany, NJ.
