We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Preconstruction/Chief Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will spearhead our preconstruction efforts, providing strategic direction and leadership in all aspects of preconstruction and estimation. This role is integral to our operations, as you will be responsible for ensuring that our projects are envisioned, planned, and budgeted accurately and efficiently. If you have a passion for sustainable building and a keen eye for detail, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor our preconstruction team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Oversee all aspects of preconstruction, including conceptual estimating, detailed estimating, scheduling, and design review.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to develop comprehensive, accurate, and competitive estimates.
  • Review and evaluate project plans and specifications, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Provide strategic direction in the implementation of LEED and other sustainable building practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other industry professionals.
  • Conduct post-bid and post-project reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices, ensuring our preconstruction efforts are cutting-edge and effective.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in preconstruction and estimating
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with LEED and sustainable building practices.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including estimating software and project management tools.
