Position Title: Insurance Verification Coordinator
Location: Remote (CST/EST)
Duration: 5 months of contract
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr. on W2
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8am-9pm
Job Description: Insurance Verification Specialist
**Position Purpose:**
To obtain and verify complete insurance information, manage the prior authorization process, provide copay assistance, and coordinate benefits for patients.
**Education/Experience:**
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing or insurance verification preferred.
- Familiarity with payors and prior authorization processes is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills are essential.
**Responsibilities:**
- Obtain and verify insurance eligibility for services provided, documenting all information accurately in the system.
- Perform prior authorizations as required by the payor source, collaborating with physician offices and insurance companies to procure necessary documentation.
- Collect clinical information, including lab values and diagnosis codes.
- Determine patients' financial responsibilities as outlined by their insurance plans.
- Configure coordination of benefits information for every referral.
- Ensure assignment of benefits is obtained and maintained for Medicare claims.
- Bill insurance companies for therapies provided.
- Document all relevant communications with patients, physicians, and insurance companies concerning collection procedures.
- Identify and coordinate patient resources related to reimbursement, including copay cards, third-party assistance programs, and manufacturer assistance programs.
- Handle inbound calls from patients, physician offices, and insurance companies.
- Resolve claim rejections related to eligibility, coverage, and other issues.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and insurance verification processes.
