Job Opportunity: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT)
Location: Helen, GA
School Year: 2024-2025 (Remainder of the School Year)
Position Type: Full-Time, Elementary (K-5) Caseload

Position Overview:

Soliant Education is actively seeking a qualified Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT) for an immediate opening. This full-time role will support students in grades K-5 for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct educational services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure classroom accessibility.
  • Support students in munication, utilizing sign language, speech reading, or auditory training.
  • Serve as a resource to staff, students, and families regarding Deaf Education.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and meet all documentation requirements.
  • Assist with Deaf Hard of Hearing interpretation as needed.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Valid Georgia certification in Deaf Education (or the ability to obtain it).
  • Experience teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, preferably at the elementary level.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other munication systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Availability to start immediately and continue through the remainder of the school year.
  • Ideal candidate is also qualified as a Deaf Hard of Hearing interpreter.
