Self Contained K-1st Classroom Special Education Teacher Opportunity

Soliant Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team near Berwyn, IL 60402. This full-time position is specifically for a K-1st grade self-contained classroom, providing specialized support for young learners with diverse needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring each child's unique needs are met through personalized instruction and goals.
- Classroom Instruction: Deliver differentiated instruction to students in a self-contained setting, utilizing evidence-based strategies to support students with a range of learning, behavioral, and developmental challenges.
- Behavioral Support: Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and use positive behavior support strategies to promote a structured, nurturing classroom environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and other school staff to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
- Parent Communication: Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- Progress Monitoring: Conduct regular assessments and data collection to track student progress and make necessary adjustments to teaching methods and interventions.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and development to stay current with best practices in special education, ensuring the highest quality of instruction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Illinois teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with early childhood or elementary-aged students, particularly in a self-contained classroom setting, is preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development, behavior management, and individualized instruction strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and encouraged.
