Now Hiring: Special Education Teacher / LBS1 in Lyons, IL

Position: Special Education Teacher / LBS1
Location: Lyons, IL
School Year: 24/25
Caseload: Middle School CD Program
Contract Duration: August 20, 2024 - May 30, 2025
Contract Through: ProCare Therapy
Schedule: Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in the middle school CD program
  • Provide specialized instruction tailored to meet the needs of students with diverse learning abilities
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure a cohesive learning environment
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Utilize various instructional strategies and resources to engage and support students

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois LBS1 certification
  • Experience with middle school CD programs preferred
  • Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to fostering the academic and personal growth of students
