This position is located in our Houston, TX Corporate office area

The duties and responsibilities of the Aftermarket Engineer include but are not limited to:

  • Point of contact for all custom pump and upgrade/re-rate API pumps
  • Develop proposal scope and pricing.  Ensure it is in compliance with client, industrial, and OEM specifications and standards.
  • Project manage these jobs after winning the bid.  Includes coordinate with hydraulic engineering group, designers, purchasing, and production to successfully and fully execute the job.
  • Will oversee and approve detailed design drawings, BOM’s, and job instructions/routers
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with internal and external stakeholders
  • Performance will be judged basis on time delivery, technical success, and job financial performance
  • Will spend time initially in the OEM manufacturing design engineering groups to ensure fully up to speed with Pumpworks design criteria and methods
  • Attend client meetings as required with sales staff
  • Make site visits to properly asses opportunities
  • Travel expected to be roughly 10%
  • Assist with R&D activities
  • Repair Service Center Support
  • Spend roughly 1 day a week at the Deer Park Service Center
  • Provide technical support for all aspects of centrifugal pump refurbishment

Qualifications of the Pump Repair Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Two-years’ experience in a related Pumps fabrication industry
  • Good communications and writing skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and Solidworks and AutoCAD systems
  • Good verbal and communicative skills
  • Previous experience in the field of mechanical and/or pump hydraulic design is required

Additional Information:

Physical Demand: N/A

Working Conditions: Primarily shop/office environment

Training/Certifications: Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Pumps design

Shift Time/Overtime: Normal working hours 8am to 5 pm CDT Monday through Friday with periodic overtime

Travel: N/A

Education: bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
