The Housing Navigator will serve as a key member of our housing services team, dedicated to helping individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness navigate the complex systems of care and access stable housing. The role involves providing personalized support to clients by assessing their needs, identifying appropriate housing options, and connecting them with community resources to promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Assessment & Intake:

    • Conduct thorough assessments of individuals and families experiencing homelessness to identify their immediate needs, housing preferences, and eligibility for available programs.

    • Develop personalized housing plans, taking into account client strengths, challenges, and goals.

  • Housing Placement & Coordination:

    • Assist clients in identifying and securing suitable housing options, including emergency shelters, transitional housing, and permanent housing.

    • Navigate housing applications, paperwork, and eligibility criteria with clients.

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local housing programs, subsidies, and resources.

  • Resource Navigation & Referrals:

    • Provide clients with referrals to other social services, including employment assistance, mental health counseling, addiction treatment, healthcare, and legal services.

    • Support clients in accessing financial assistance, food, transportation, and other essential services to help stabilize their living situation.

  • Advocacy & Case Management:

    • Advocate for clients with landlords, housing providers, and service agencies to ensure fair treatment and access to resources.

    • Maintain regular follow-up with clients to track their progress toward housing stability and other goals.

    • Document all interactions, case notes, and progress in client management systems.

  • Collaboration & Partnerships:

    • Build and maintain positive working relationships with local housing authorities, landlords, shelter programs, and community-based organizations.

    • Participate in housing coalitions, client support meetings, and community events to promote awareness and collaboration.

  • Crisis Intervention:

    • Provide crisis intervention when needed, offering emotional support, conflict resolution, and immediate solutions to urgent housing or safety concerns.

  • Data Collection & Reporting:

    • Collect and maintain accurate data related to client outcomes, program participation, and service utilization.

    • Prepare reports for funding agencies, supervisors, and partners as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree required

  • 6 months+ of experience working with the homeless population



Pay Details: $24.00 to $25.00 per hour
