AR Follow Up/Medical Collections
Description:
- Review billing information, debt, and unpaid insurance claims.
- Verify accuracy of claims data, including CPT and HCPCS codes.
- Submit electronic and/or paper claims promptly.
- Contact insurance companies regarding outstanding bills.
- Negotiate repayment plans and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Monitor claim status and follow up on rejections and denials.
- Maintain accurate records of account activities, adjustments, and collections.
- Document interactions with patients and insurance companies.
- Interpret medical insurance cards and verify patient eligibility.
- Confirm coverage details and benefits.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and address inquiries related to billing and collections.
- Explain payment options and assist with payment arrangements.
- Stay informed about changes in billing and coding practices.
- Collaborate with other departments (such as billing, finance, and customer service) to streamline processes.
