Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team in Clairton, PA.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs and goals.
  • Provide direct instruction in core subjects and specialized areas as outlined in students' IEPs.
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers to ensure inclusive educational practices and support for students with disabilities.
  • Utilize appropriate instructional strategies and accommodations to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies as necessary to achieve educational goals.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of student progress and services provided.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, school staff, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and educational plans.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Active Pennsylvania Teaching License in Special Education (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Experience working with high school and/or middle school students in a special education setting.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
