Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Mon Valley School. As a Secondary Emotional Support Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing instructional services to students in special education center-based programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students.
  • Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with parents, education personnel, and other service providers to ensure student success.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and reports to meet federal and state regulations.
  • Establish and enforce rules for positive behavior and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Utilize technology and educational resources to enhance student learning.
Requirements
  • Valid PA certification in Special Education PK-8 or N-12 required.
  • Experience working with special education school-age population preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust and positive working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent collaboration and leadership skills.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this position include sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 35 pounds, and moving fingers and hands in a repetitive manner. The ability to speak clearly and distinctly, hear clearly, and have adequate vision to perform duties is also required.
