Our client, a leading consumer goods company, is seeking a Category Management Analyst to join their team. As a Category Management Analyst, you will be part of the Sales department supporting the Category Management team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Title: Category Management Analyst

Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid)

Pay Range: $50/hr

What's the Job?

  • Collect and analyze product, marketing, and customer specific data relating to product category or brand performance.
  • Analyze impact of key competitors' activity, and report impact based on distribution, pricing, promotion, and merchandising tactics.
  • Provide insights and recommendations, using fact-based information, for such things as consumer profiles, product assortment, in-store merchandising, and space planning analysis, to optimize product introductions, distribution, shelving, price, and marketing.
  • Provide ongoing tracking, analysis, and monitoring of category and/or customer performance against business metrics and versus the rest of the market, and regularly report status.
  • Support the development of the Company’s sales programs, including delivery of post-promotion analyses and pricing strategies.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or equivalent from four-year college or university; or five to seven years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years category or shopper experience and/or regional and independent experience (customer facing).
  • Proficient in CPG industry insights tools, such as: AC Nielsen, IRI, Spectra, shopper panel data, shopper loyalty data, JDA space planning, Shelf Architect space planning tool.
  • Expertise in Excel includes pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP’s, and Power Point.
