Job Description

This position is responsible for operating robotic welding machines to fabricate aluminum, steel, and stainless steel parts for constructing tunnel car wash systems. The role involves working in a robotic welding station performing MIG welding on various materials and interpreting welding symbols and drawings.

Responsibilities
  • Operate robotic welding machines to fabricate parts.
  • Perform MIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Execute vertical fillet welds, circular welds using a turntable, butt welds, and horizontal welds.
  • Use a square measuring tape and other measuring tools to ensure accurate part specifications.
  • Interpret basic elements of drawings or sketches, including welding symbols.
  • Identify types of joints and welds.
  • Use a ruler, tape measure, or caliper for precise measurements.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 6 months of welding experience.
  • Experience with MIG or TIG welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Proficiency in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Familiarity with welding symbols and types of joints.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to pass a practical proficiency test.
  • Exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes.
  • Machine operating experience is helpful.
  • Stronger steel welding skills preferred for the 2nd shift.

Work Environment

The work environment involves working 7 am - 3:30 pm for the 1st shift, Monday - Friday, and 3:30 pm - 12 am for the 2nd shift. The facility is a clean manufacturing environment without air conditioning. Working conditions require heavy lifting, machinery operation with necessary safety PPE, and the ability to stand for 8 hours per day. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
