we are looking for a superstar to add to our quickly growing team. An ideal candidate is one who is organized, detail oriented and has a passion for helping people, especially those who have experienced problems on the job. We are rapidly growing due to the terrific results that we have obtained for our clients. Therefore, we need a paralegal that can provide litigation support to our team of attorneys.

Position Summary

The Paralegal performs broad range of secretarial, administrative, and clerical support duties for one or more attorneys. Organizes and maintains all files, calendars/scheduling, and other correspondence relating to litigation and administrative matters under direct supervision of attorneys.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Receiving and placing telephone calls to clients; scheduling, reminders and requesting information

  • Scheduling depositions and conferences.

  • Calendaring court dates.

  • Drafting notices for depositions.

  • E-mailing, mailing, faxing, or arranging for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, opposing counsel and court officials.

  • Assisting with office administrative duties by making photocopies of correspondences, documents, and other printed matters.

  • Organizing and maintaining documents and case files, electronically.

  • Assisting attorneys in collecting information relevant to caseloads.

  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of three to five years of relevant work experience in Worker's compensation; equivalent combination of education and/or experience considered.

  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for details.

  • Ability to draft correspondence in business letter form or email.

  • Familiarity with litigation management software systems preferred

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills with knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point; ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, and computer; proficient with internet research

  • Previous calendaring experience.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.

  • Ability to be flexible to adapt and act quickly when urgent matters require it.

  • Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and professional competencies.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
