Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Medical Front Desk Specialist to join our team located in Canton Township, Ohio. This role in the healthcare and social assistance industry involves managing front desk operations, processing patient information, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. This position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist anyone who presents at the front desk, including patients, visitors, and employees.
• Handle patient check-ins, including verification of personal and financial information, and collection of co-pays and outstanding balances.
• Register new patients and accurately enter all required patient information.
• Aid patients in completing consent forms when necessary.
• Schedule and confirm medical, dental, and behavioral health patient appointments.
• Coordinate daily provider schedules in liaison with the Patient Access Manager.
• Make confirmation calls to patients reminding them of upcoming appointments and any necessary information they need to bring, such as co-pays and current medications.
• Evaluate and process record requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and relay messages as needed.
• Recruit, educate, and enroll patients to the online portal.
• Participate in and serve on committees as assigned.
• Travel when necessary to meet operational needs.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and agency meetings as assigned.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry
• Proficiency in answering inbound calls and providing prompt assistance
• Ability to perform billing functions accurately and efficiently
• Competence in creating and interpreting charts and graphs
• Experience in patient check-in procedures
• Demonstrated ability to assist patients with care and professionalism
• Proven track record of managing existing patient relationships effectively
• Expertise in patient scheduling, ensuring smooth operations
• Familiarity with 3Com NBX or similar communication systems
• Experience in handling copays and understanding of related procedures
• Basic understanding of medical terminology
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems
• Experience in managing and maintaining medical records with utmost confidentiality.
