Responsibilities:
- Perform sandblasting operations on steel structures, ensuring proper surface preparation for painting and coating.
- Operate sandblasting equipment, including compressors, nozzles, and abrasive materials.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear.
- Maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and report any malfunctions.
- Collaborate with project teams to meet project schedules and quality standards.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Sandblaster or in a related field.
- Familiarity with construction drawings and basic engineering terminology.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Ability to interpret contract language and work independently.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to climb 10-15ft ladders.
Environment/ Shift:
- 180,000 sq. ft. single steel fabrication facility is one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest. Our company is AISC certified to work on high-rise buildings, bridges, marine, and other structural steel projects. Our company also holds an AISC Sophisticated Paint, Indoor endorsement QP3 (SPE) with years of experience applying surface treatments and paint applications.
- Training Schedule for 1-2 Weeks on Day Shift: Mon-Thurs 4x10s 6:00am - 4:30pm. Swing Shift: Mon-Thurs 4x10s 4:30pm - 2:30am.
