Field Service Technician I

The Role:The Field Service Technician will be responsible for executing field service activities at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner. This role includes system troubleshooting, working with mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment conditions, conducting preventative maintenance and parts inventory, and identifying and remedying safety issues (both Company and Customer owned equipment). The role involves direct interfacing with customers and potentially working at multiple sites with multiple technologies. Critical thinking is essential in this role.
Core Responsibilities:• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and servicing as directed on Godwin fleet equipment.• Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager.• Create an accurate and legible parts and repair list for assigned equipment.• Safely and effectively operate a company vehicle for extended periods of time throughout cities, job sites, major highways, and interstates (including tunnels and bridges) and in all weather conditions.• Review list of parts with Service Manager and obtain approval to continue with servicing and repair.• Repair damaged equipment.• Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.• Perform preventative maintenance on shop equipment as directed (air dryer, chain saws, etc.).• Perform related duties as assigned.
Driving Requirements:• Driver Application for Employment• Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)• Forms: - Driver Disclosure and Release - Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement - FMCSA Certificate of Awareness - Driver Certificate of Violations - Driver Statement of On Duty Hours Road Test - Copy of Driver’s License - Copy of Medical Certificate
Qualifications:Education Requirements:• HS diploma or equivalent• Capable of obtaining a CDL, class A or B with applicable endorsements
Experience Requirements:• Ability to obtain all required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)• Ability to obtain DOT Medical card• Clean driving record• Work experience preferred• 0 to 2 years of technical work experience, 1 year preferred
Skill Requirements:• Electrical, mechanical, diesel, fusion experience depending on business unit• Work without direct supervision• Technically sound• Experience with Microsoft Office including smart devices• Must have customer service experience• Demonstrates critical thinking and troubleshooting ability• Synthesizes technical information and communicates it clearly• Derives insight from customer experience to produce outcomes and solve moderately complex problems often in novel and unexpected ways
Education: High School
Certification: FMCSA Certificate
