Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description
Monitor plant sanitation and personal hygiene as outlined by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for food processing facilities in CFR and current company GMP Policies. Assist with internal audits and keep a detailed lab notebook. Perform standardized quality sampling and checks during production; organize collected data into electronic logbooks, databases, and report variances and non-conformities to plant management. Follow all required work instructions, work aids, and forms as they pertain to Quality, Environment, Safety, and Food Safety. Understand, monitor, and act accordingly to support ISO-GFSI compliance, FDA-FSMA regulatory requirements, Food Safety & Quality programs. This individual has the authority and responsibility to stop production should the product be out of specification and/or observed food safety. Follow strict regulatory and safety guidelines, inspect the facility for regulatory compliance, and test food products and raw materials. Perform analysis of incoming, in-process, and finished materials using analytical standardized procedures, including but not limited to pH, Titratable Acidity, Brix, Organoleptic, Density, Total Solids, Microbiological Sampling, and testing. Standardize and calibrate laboratory equipment, troubleshoot systems, equipment, and processes. Communicate professionally with the quality team and others. Assist the team as needed with sanitation, inventory, and housekeeping. Maintain and apply for facility certifications. Participate in continuous improvement, lean practices, 6 sigma, 5S, food safety, environmental, and plant safety programs.

- Reporting Quality Deviations to Quality Management.
- Assuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Excel and the entire Microsoft Office suite.
- Quality assurance experience.
- HACCP certification.
- Experience in food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of food quality, quality control, and inspection.
- Microbiology and food safety experience.
- Laboratory and food science knowledge.
