Job Title: Project Engineer - Transportation/Roadway Design & Construction

Job Overview:

Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in Marlborough, MA. As a Project Engineer, you will be involved in a variety of transportation and roadway engineering projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development, with the potential to evolve into a project management role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and develop design plans for roadway and intersection improvements in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.

  • Create and review project specifications, functional design reports, and construction cost estimates.

  • Develop bid documents and participate in the bidding process.

  • Conduct in-field evaluations of proposed roadway improvements to ensure adherence to design plans and standards.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including contractors, clients, and government agencies.

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for roadway design and other related projects.

  • Assist in the design of stormwater management systems and traffic signal layouts (preferred, but not required).

  • Ensure compliance with MassDOT design standards and regulations.

  • Provide technical support during the construction phase of projects by responding to contractor inquiries and revising plans as necessary.

  • Prepare reports and present findings to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an accredited institution.

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required, with a desire to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) registration.

  • 5-10 years of experience in transportation/roadway design and construction preferred.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.

  • Experience with traffic signal design, stormwater design, and familiarity with MassDOT design standards are desirable but not required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
