Job Title: Project Engineer - Construction Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer - Construction Specialist to join our team at Generac Power Systems. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and evaluate design and bidding documents to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Evaluate contractor bids and negotiate contracts to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Oversee construction progress and scheduling to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical support to construction staff under the supervision of the Project Manager.
  • Assist in the development of cost estimates and monitor costs and project progress.
  • Maintain control of all project documentation and create, manage, and track RFI's from the field to the architect/engineer of record.
  • Assist the project manager/superintendent in creating and distributing the project schedule and assist project team with conflict resolution between owner, contractor, and subcontractor.
  • Turn in submittals from subcontractors to A/E for approval and assist project manager/owner in getting building permits for the project.
  • Create site SWPPP book and apply for state and local SWPPP permits/NOI's for the project.
  • Understand appropriate building codes and regulations and coordinate project change-order management, creation, and negotiation.
  • Conduct and document weekly project owner's meetings/decisions and assist the project team with site safety documentation and coordination.
  • Assist the project team with closeout of the project and assist project accountant with monthly subcontractor billings and pay applications.
  • Assist project manager with assigned tasks and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change.
Qualifications:
  • Pursuing College Degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • 2+ years' experience in construction project management or related field.
  • Computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite software and other applicable software programs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change and strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Team player and self-starter with strong analytical skills and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proficient with mobile devices and mobile form and capable of completing work assignments with little supervision.
