Job Description

We are currently hiring for general production workers at our Annex facility. Candidates will use hand tools and a tape measure to follow work instructions and assemble various components of flooring and drop ceiling products. All lifting will be done as a team, but individuals should be comfortable lifting up to 30-35 lbs on their own a handful of times per shift. There is also an opportunity to train on machinery once hired on.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect panels or parts to verify they meet quality standards while maintaining established production standards.
  • Read and follow established Manufacturing Operating Procedures or Standard Operating Procedures without deviation unless approved.
  • Complete production reporting and quality paperwork accurately as required.
  • Efficiently use banding equipment and hand-jacks to ensure proper movement or storage of product or material.
  • Place materials such as panels or tile in machines or on conveyors in a prescribed manner and sequence while maintaining a smooth flow of operations.
  • Perform various trimming, indexing, or cutting procedures as required.
  • Keep supervisor informed of problems and equipment that is not operating properly.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual.
  • Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. and a maximum of 45 lbs. continuously for at least an 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Must be able to work in an area that may contain non-hazardous airborne particles due to the manufacturing process with proper PPE provided.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk, bend, stoop, or crouch for at least an 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment, or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience using hand tools and a tape measure.
  • Experience with power tools, machine operation, micrometers, and calipers is a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to interface with a diverse workforce.

Work Environment

The Annex facility is very clean and up-to-date, though it can be loud. Only about 15 employees work on the floor at a time. The Annex building specializes in containment door assemblies. The main facility is older and larger, with about 40-60 employees per shift, and is also loud. The dress code requires long pants, a minimum of short-sleeve shirts, and steel toe shoes with metatarsal guards provided.
