Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOur client is looking for a Risk and Safety Coordinator.

The position supports the development and administration of safety programs, training, procedures, and materials to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. This role also provides clerical and administrative assistance to the Safety Committee and Human Resources leadership.

Manages vehicle and equipment accident cases, coordinating with insurers, legal entities, supervisors, and the Fleet Department.
Tracks and resolves accident claims, submitting DMV forms and compiling data for periodic reports.
Investigates unreported incidents and follows up on repair reimbursements until all claims are resolved.
Workers’ Compensation

Processes workers’ compensation claims, ensuring employees receive necessary documentation and information.
Maintains injury logs, OSHA reports, and updates managers on employee work statuses.
Inputs incidents into the HR system and provides support for return-to-work processes.
Driver Compliance

Oversees the CHP Employer Pull Notice Program, monitoring employee driving records and addressing violations.
Tracks and ensures renewals of DMV medical certificates, scheduling exams and maintaining accurate compliance records.
Registers drivers for training programs and uploads certifications into appropriate databases.
Drug and Alcohol Testing

Administers random drug and alcohol testing in line with DOT guidelines.
Keeps detailed records of test results and updates personnel files accordingly.
Prepares and submits annual compliance summaries and coordinates with external labs.
Safety Committee Leadership

Facilitates bi-monthly safety meetings, presenting data on workplace injuries, equipment accidents, and committee recommendations.
Documents and distributes meeting minutes.
Emergency Preparedness

Updates and distributes emergency kits and plans, ensuring all locations meet preparedness requirements.
Awards and Certifications

Coordinates employee recognition programs for safe driving and safety initiatives.
Monitors and ensures the renewal of certifications, licenses, and training for drivers and equipment operators.
Training and Support

Prepares monthly safety training topics for material handling teams.
Schedules CPR/First Aid training sessions and maintains training records.
Tracks safety-related disciplinary actions and ensures training documentation is up-to-date.
Inventory and Compliance

Audits and replenishes first aid kits, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Manages and updates Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for materials on-site.
General Safety Administration

Orders safety equipment as required.
Ensures adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.

Performs other duties as needed to support departmental and organizational objectives
