Summary:

The Director of Applications and Data Management oversees the overall application portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and drives the design, development, and deployment of enterprise applications. This role is critical in managing large-scale projects, integrating cutting-edge technologies, and leading cross-functional teams. The Director collaborates with senior leadership in the region and globally to deliver innovative solutions that enhance business processes, improve user experience and support organizational growth.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the strategy for the organization’s application portfolio in alignment with business goals
  • Provide technical leadership and direction for the development, customization and integration of applications  
  • Manage key global suppliers to deliver a range of application development projects and deployments  
  • Manage application lifecycle management, including planning, implementation, upgrades, and support  
  • Work closely with the Global Application Services team to deliver services to region as well as provide input to solutions and plans being developed globally.
  • Ensure the applications meet business requirements, are secure, and are aligned with compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Architect application and data solutions which provide answers to challenges presented by the organization.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in software and enterprise applications
  • Manage data warehouse, data integration, and data governance activities
  • Ensure data analysts and business intelligence teams provide business insights and drive
  • decision making
  • Evaluate new technologies and assess their potential for application within the organization  
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives, ensuring the cost-effectiveness of application strategies and solutions
  • Provide input and participate actively as member of Americas IT management team.
  • Provide coaching and performance management to the Application and Data Management team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 20 years’ experience in leading application development and data management teams.
  • Experience in leading teams for a large, global organization and a matrixed environment.
  • 15 years of large-scale SAP development and deployment experience
  • Experience with implementation of AI, machine learning and RPA concepts
  • Proficient in data warehouse technologies, CRM technologies, architecture, project management
  • Strong leadership, management and communication skills.
  • Strategic ability to align application development initiatives with the company’s overall business strategy.
  • Strong experience in budget management and resource planning
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively, showing initiative and a self-starter attitude.
  • Travel expected to be about 30%
