Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Thermal/Heating Mechanical Engineer to join our client’s team in Chattanooga. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing industrial heating equipment based on customer specifications. This role involves managing projects from initial intake through to production, ensuring all technical and design requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Take customer specifications and design industrial heating equipment, including heaters, boilers/reboilers, and burners.
- P&ID Creation: Gather necessary information and create Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) to guide the project.
- Technical Calculations: Perform all necessary calculations to ensure the design meets required standards and specifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with drafters, manufacturing groups, and sales personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
- Project Management: Oversee the project lifecycle from intake to production, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of the final product.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience with industrial heating/thermal equipment such as heaters, boilers/reboilers, and burners.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks).
- P&ID Expertise: Experience in creating and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Calculation Proficiency: Strong ability to handle technical calculations related to thermal and heating equipment.
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with ASME standards and regulations.
